Can we do Emei in one day from Chengdu?

Yes, it is a long day but doable: leave at 7 AM, take the mountain bus and cable car to Golden Summit, and be back by 7 PM. For a relaxed trip, stay overnight on the mountain and add Leshan the next day.

Is it cold on the summit?

Yes — at 3,099 m the temperature is often 10-15 C cooler than Chengdu, with strong wind. Bring a jacket even in summer; rental coats are available at the top.

Are the monkeys dangerous?

The wild macaques are bold and may grab bags or food. Keep food hidden, do not carry plastic bags visibly, and follow the ranger instructions. We can advise on monkey-free trails.

How much does it cost?

Full-day private car starts from $150 for a sedan (1-3), $190 for a GL8 (4-6), $270 for a V-Class (7-8). Entrance, bus and cable car are paid locally.

Should I do Emei or Leshan first?

If doing both, do Leshan first (half day) then Emei, staying overnight on the mountain. If only one day, choose based on interest: Leshan is easier and cultural; Emei is a mountain experience.
