How do I get from Beijing Capital Airport to the city center?
+Capital Airport (PEK) sits about 32 km northeast of downtown. Your options: the Airport Express train to Dongzhimen/Sanyuanqiao (around RMB 25, ~30 min), the airport shuttle bus to Xidan, Beijing Railway Station and other hubs, or a metered taxi/ride-hail. The subway is cheap but crowded at rush hour and won't take you straight to the Great Wall. For door-to-door comfort — especially with luggage, kids or after a long flight — a private car with driver meets you at arrivals with a name sign and goes straight to your hotel. How do I get from Shanghai Pudong Airport to downtown?
+Pudong (PVG) is roughly 40 km east of the Bund. Fastest public options are the Maglev train (to Longyang Road, then Metro Line 2 into town) or Metro Line 2 all the way — both cheap but slow with luggage. Taxis are metered but the ride into central Shanghai takes 45–75 minutes depending on traffic. We meet you at the gate and drive you directly to your hotel on the Bund, French Concession or beyond, at a fixed price. Shanghai airport transfers →
How do I get from Xi'an Xianyang Airport to the city center?
+Xi'an Xianyang (XIY) is about 41 km northwest of downtown Xi'an. You can take Metro Line 14 into the city, an airport shuttle bus (around an hour, ticket from the info desk), or a metered taxi at the arrivals exit. First-time visitors sometimes run into unofficial "taxi" touts outside — a pre-booked private car waits for you with a name sign and takes you straight to the City Wall, Muslim Quarter or your hotel. What can I do during a short layover in Beijing?
+It depends on how long you have: under 6 hours, stay airside — immigration, transit and re-clearing security eat up the time. With 8–12 hours you can realistically see one highlight (the Forbidden City/Tiananmen area or a Mutianyu Great Wall day trip). From 12–24 hours a one-day layover tour works well, and 2+ days lets you add the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven and hutongs. Remember to be back at the airport at least 2 hours before your onward flight. If you qualify for China's visa-free transit, our layover tours are built for exactly this window. How do I get from Beijing to Tianjin International Cruise Home Port?
+The public route is doable but multi-hop: take a frequent intercity bullet train from Beijing South to Tianjin Station (~30 min), then a local train to Tanggu (~20 min), then a taxi about 45 minutes to the cruise terminal. With luggage and a ship departure time, that connection is tight. Our door-to-door private car drives you from your Beijing hotel straight to the Tianjin cruise home port in about 2.5 hours, monitored against your ship's sailing time — the same service works in reverse when you return. How do I get from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to Pudong Airport?
+By metro: take Line 10 or Line 2. Line 2 runs directly from Hongqiao to Pudong Airport but takes roughly 1.5 hours with stops. By car it's about 50–70 minutes depending on traffic. If you're connecting a high-speed train to an international flight and time matters, a pre-booked private transfer picks you up curbside at Hongqiao and waits for any train delay — fixed price, no meter surprises. Do I need a visa for a short stopover in China?
+Often, no. If you are merely transiting to a third country and stay within the port's restricted area, all nationalities can enter without a visa for up to 24 hours. If you want to actually leave the airport and sightsee, nationals of 57 countries (including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, most of Europe, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and the UAE) qualify for China's 240-hour (10-day) visa-free transit — you need an ordinary passport and a confirmed onward ticket to a third country within 10 days. Many other nationalities can enter direct for up to 30 days under China's bilateral/unilateral visa-free arrangements. Full visa & entry guide →
Can cruise passengers visit Shanghai or China without a visa?
+Yes, under the cruise visa-free scheme: a group of two or more people organized by a China-registered travel agency may enter without a visa through 13 coastal cruise ports — including Shanghai Wusongkou and the Tianjin home port — and stay up to 15 days within Beijing and the coastal provinces. The condition is that you must continue on and depart on the same cruise ship. We handle port pick-ups and private shore excursions at every one of these terminals. Visa policy details →
